Who We Are

Precious Paws Rescue is a non-profit, all-breed dog rescue based in Barrie, Ontario. We are dedicated to saving the lives of homeless pets by rescuing from pounds and shelters across North America. Our dogs come to us from situations where they are at risk of euthanasia - most often due to lack of space in a pound or shelter.

While in rescue our dogs do not stay in a shelter environment, but rather in private foster homes where they can receive all of the TLC that they so desperately need. This also gives us a chance to properly assess the dogs in a home environment so that we can place them in the best possible "forever" home.

Most often the dogs we receive come to us with minor to major medical issues. Whether it be as simple as deworming for parasites or as costly as orthopedic surgery, we do not give up on any animal simply due to medical needs. All of our dogs are fully vetted, including spayed/neutered and microchipped, prior to being placed in adoptive homes.

Keep Animals Safe - Video

Toronto Wildlife Centre launched a campaign this summer to raise awareness about the plight of outdoor cats, the dangers free-roaming cats pose to wildlife, and to encourage people to keep cats and wildlife safe by keeping pet cats indoors.

We've recently produced a controversial commercial for the campaign, which I’ve just posted online. We'd like to get as many people as possible to check the video out, to see if we can get it on to the site’s ‘most viewed’ lists. Please, take 30 seconds to take a look right now – and then forward it as widely as you can! Email your friends, post it on facebook, tweet it on twitter…Every click brings us closer to raising awareness about a serious issue that too often falls outside of the radar of public concern. To learn more about the issue, check out our website! www.keepanimalssafe.ca
